Over the last several months, many things have happened, some good, some not so good. Skipping to the good stuff, I had the opportunity to participate in an online art class with Flora Bowley. It was AMAZING and I learned so much from the course. There's nothing like getting your fingers into some paint, or splattering it all over your canvas. It was awesome. I enjoyed it so much, that I decided to try another online art class to learn additional techniques. Life Book 2013 started on January 1st and I have since completed the first six lessons. While I enjoyed each lesson, I didn't always like the way that they turned out. This is part of the process, so I tried not to be too hard on myself about it. ;P

While Flora's class was using primarily paints and canvas, this class incorporates watercolors, stencils, spray inks, etc. onto journal pages. At the end of the year we will have created our own book filled with the art that we have created throughout each month. There's a different activity every week and while it has been really fun, I've had a hard time keeping up with it! I'm currently two lessons behind, but am hoping to get caught up some time soon.
Not only do I love creating, but it has also been inspirational seeing the work of others. It is a great group and everyone is so encouraging to one another. Plus, I have to admit, it is super cool getting to visit with people from around the world!
Next time....Suzi Blu's Mixed Media Girls. Awesome techniques and a fun project that I just completed and put in the mail as a gift.
